Park Info

Dundee Beach is one of the Top End’s best kept secrets, offering a tropical escape immersed in the best of the NT’s famous flora and fauna. At 140km from Darwin, Dundee Beach Holiday Park is reachable within two hours drive on all-weather sealed roads. Located in the picturesque seaside town of Dundee Beach, the park is the perfect place to base yourself while you explore The Peninsula Way, which provides a tantalising taste of the Top End’s most pristine landscapes, beaches and unique wildlife. World-class fishing, boating, crabbing, bird and turtle watching is at your fingertips, or you can choose to simply relax by the pool and enjoy spectacular tropical sunsets from the park’s beachfront location.

A range of accommodation options makes the park perfect if you're travelling here with a family-sized group. Spacious 2-bedroom bungalows sleep 4 adults, with the option of an extra roll-away bed on request. These are set amongst tropical gardens and within a short walk of the swimming pool, BBQ facilities and a beachside bar. You can configure the bungalow how you like, with the option of 1 x King double-bed and 2 x King single beds, 2 x King double-bed, or 4 x singles. All linen is supplied excluding pool towels, there is an ensuite bathroom with separate toilet, a verandah with outdoor setting and split system heating and cooling throughout. The one-bedroom version is perfect for any couple or two singles.

Powered and Unpowered sites are set up to accommodate caravans, motorhomes, camper trailers, tents and fifth-wheelers as well as your boat and big rig too! With a choice of grassed, shady, small or large, all of these are centrally located to the amenities block, BBQ facility, pool and beachside bar. A communal campfire is at the centre of the park and makes a perfect meeting point for friends old and new. The park’s boat ramp makes it easy to access the water, meaning unspoiled beaches and fishing in the Timor Sea is easily accessible.

Activities at Dundee Beach Holiday Park seem to take care of themselves. The main one being to relax around the campfire or swimming pool, or enjoy a sunset drink overlooking Dundee Beach. On any given day, a beach walk to ‘Boss Creek’ might turn up a turtle, dolphin, dugong or even the odd manta ray! Saturday afternoons bring the Dundee Beach Markets between 10am and 3pm, where homemade ice-creams, jams and unique NT knick-knacks are always available.

Fishing and boating are the most popular thing to do here, and boat hire or fishing charters are possible if you don’t already own one. Sightings of humpback whales are more and more common off Dundee Beach, particularly between August and October. The region also has a diverse range of native species and habitat including monsoon rainforests, savannah woodlands, mangroves and estuaries. With over 80 bird species local to the area the rule of thumb here is to always keep your camera ready!

Access to a 4WD is highly desirable and will allow you to explore the Finniss River region, famous for its Barramundi. Good Luck!
