If you’ve made the journey with the caravan or you’re keen to pitch the tent, you’ll find spacious sites available. Both powered and unpowered sites are covered with grass and benefit from plenty of shady trees to keep you out of the hot outback sun.
If you’re looking for cabin accommodation, there are choices for all sizes of group. All of the accommodation is immaculately presented, with well-appointed kitchens, comfortable beds and private bathrooms. Choose from the Standard Cabin for three people, or the Executive Cabin which sleeps 4 in comfort. For a little bit more luxury, the Deluxe Villas, sleeping 4 to 5 people, are perfect. You’ll enjoy plenty of living space, air conditioning, and a real home-away-from home feel. For those visitors in Mt Isa for work who are looking for a fuss-free place to rest their heads after a busy day, the Budget Studio is ideal.
Once you’ve settled into your accommodation, you’ll be free to use all of the onsite facilities available. These include the spacious camp kitchen, onsite BBQs and laundry facilities so you can catch up on the washing. There is also a swimming pool to cool off in and even a store at the park office where you can pick up all of those last-minute necessities.
While in Mount Isa, a trip to the mines is a must. You can learn all about the industry at the Isa Experience Gallery, or even get down into the noise and dirt at the purpose-built Hard Times Mine to really understand what is involved. If you’re after a relaxing day of swimming, paddle boarding or fishing, the nearby Lake Moondurra is ideal. Or if you’ve arrived with the family and the kids are looking for something to do, the Mountt Isa Family Fun Park will keep them busy for hours and the Outback Park and Riverslea Fossil Centre will keep their minds busy too.
After a day looking around the town, boating on the lake or just relaxing by your camp, or even after a tough but satisfying day at work, you’ll be pleased to return to your cabin or camp at Discovery Parks – Argylla.
