Park Info
Windsor Gardens Caravan Park is just 20 minutes from the city of Adelaide with its theatres, shops, world-class laneway restaurants and bars but it feels like the country, adjacent to the picturesque Linear Park on the River Torrens.
Ride a bike along the meandering Linear pathway all the way into the city; stop for a picnic by the river and spot a koala or possum in the gum trees that line the riverbank. The path takes you to the Adelaide Zoo with its famous pandas, Adelaide Oval and University of Adelaide and Festival Theatre. Or you can jump on the O’Bahn bus and be in town within 10 minutes to explore the boutiques in Rundle St, the fabulous Leigh St restaurants or the picturesque Botanic Gardens. Get a paddle boat down by the Festival Theatre or take a river cruise on Popeye. There’s even a free tram to take you around the city, while other trams take you to Glenelg beach and the Hindmarsh Entertainment Centre. The kids will love to test their parents’ nerve as they whizz around the treetops at Tree Climb in the Adelaide Park Lands and the Adelaide Aquatic Centre, with pools and waterslide.
Windsor Gardens Caravan Park is a comfortable, pretty and affordable base from which to explore the city, within easy reach of the picturesque Adelaide Hills for strawberry picking or wine tasting, or the flat, golden beaches. Windsor Park Caravan Park staff can help you find a tour to the famous Barossa Valley wine region or help you get to the Monarto Zoo to see chimps, giraffe and cheetah in natural settings. There’s also the Geoff Heath Golf course within a 15-minute walk.
The park accommodation includes 1 or 2-bedroomed Ensuite cabins – some with gorgeous river views – and Budget Units. All have bathrooms, air conditioning, linen, TV, DVD and refrigerator, while the Ensuite cabins have full kitchens and the Budget Units share a kitchen in the complex. The park has an undercover BBQ area, laundry and a kiosk. Powered sites can accommodate vehicles up to 15m and have access to BBQs, amenities, and grassy areas for a game of Bocce or to sit with friends. Sites are also dog friendly.
