Port Augusta is a busy town situated right at the tip of the Spencer Gulf in South Australia. Standing as the gateway to all of the incredible outback South Australian destinations, with the roads to the Flinders Ranges, Coober Pedy and even the highway heading west towards the Nullarbor Plain fanning out from the town, Port Augusta is a perfect stop on your journey, as well as a perfect destination for a great holiday.

A great choice for accommodation in Port Augusta is Discovery Parks – Port Augusta. Catering for every type of visitor, from families with the caravan or tent, workers arriving in town on business, or travellers looking for some outback adventure, the park has everything you need for a comfortable and stress-free stay.

If you’re after cabin accommodation, you have plenty of choice. The brand new Balcony Cabins are available in various configurations, with options for families or groups of between 4 and 6 people. All of the Balcony Cabins boast modern styling, large, well-appointed kitchens, immaculate bathrooms and plenty of living and dining space. They also all have a spacious balcony to sit out on of an evening and enjoy the sight of the setting sun and the ambient sounds of the park around you.

There are also plenty of Standard Cabins, including the luxury Spa Cabins so you can unwind after a long drive in the built-in private spa-bath. There are even pet-friendly cabins available so your four-legged companion will get a comfortable night’s sleep as well.

Visitors with caravans or tents are also welcome, with plenty of powered and unpowered sites available. There are also drive through sites for larger caravans, so you don’t have to go to all of the trouble of backing it into the space, as well as ensuite sites for added convenience.

If you prefer motel-style accommodation, you can book into the Acacia Motor Lodge which is now part of Discovery Parks – Port Augusta. There you can choose a room for between 2 and 6 people, which gives you the luxury of breakfast included. You can also then make use of the gym facilities at the Lodge, as well as enjoy the free WiFi, air-conditioning and daily housekeeping for the duration of your stay.

The kids will love playing on the playground or cooling off in the outdoor swimming pool. There are also go karts for hire and a games room and TV room where they can take a break from all of their activities. All guests are also free to use the BBQs available onsite as well as the camp kitchen where you can prepare a meal, shaded from the hot South Australian sun.
