Park Info
Just two hours from Adelaide, Yorke Peninsula, or ‘Yorkes’ as most South Aussies know it, is a playground for fishing, surfing, crabbing, boating, walking and relaxing.
For those wanting to make the most of Moonta and surrounds,
Moonta Bay Holiday Park is located right on the foreshore at Moonta Bay.
Guests are spoilt with direct access the beach, and can also take advantage of the council-owned Splash Town – a free water park located right next door.
Two styles of cabins are available to guests, as well as a range of caravan and camping sites. The two-bedroom, self-contained executive cabins sleep up to four and are tastefully appointed, featuring air-conditioning, two TVs, lounges, a dining area, a full kitchen, and a balcony to enjoy the fresh sea breezes.
Moonta Bay Holiday Park’s self-contained units sleeps up to six and feature air-conditioning, TV, dining area, full kitchen, and a balcony with sea views for alfresco dining. Both units are available with linen and towels supplied.
Powered caravan and camping sites are plentiful and include ensuite, beachfront, drive through, lower powered, and upper powered options. Sites are spacious, most are grassy, some are shady, and all are dog-friendly.
Facilities in the park include BBQ areas, a large air-conditioned camp kitchen, guest laundry, spotless amenities, dump point, fish cleaning and crab cooking areas, tour desk, and wifi.
The kids will love the bouncing pillow, playground, pedal bike and kayak hire, giant chess and draughts, outdoor movie theatre, totem tennis and the fabulous free Moonta water park right next door.
A stay at the Moonta Bay Holiday Park isn’t complete without wetting a line somewhere on Yorkes. Join the keen locals who regularly hit the beach and jetty to try their luck. Boaties can launch nearby and are just about guaranteed a good catch in the waters of Spencer Gulf.
In Moonta itself there are great restaurants and cafés, and a Cornish pasty from the Cornish Kitchen is a must.
Around Moonta, there’s plenty of interesting things to do for the whole family. Pack the kids into the car and make a day of it visiting the Farm Shed, Miniature Railway and Tourist Centre, Historic Moonta Mine Sites, Coffee Barn and Gelataria, Moonta Mine Lolly Shop, and the Moonta Mine Museum. If the kids have any energy left, try the Moonta Mines Tourist Railway, and the local skate park.
Fishing, crabbing, swimming and great local historical activates – there’s something for everyone at Moonta Bay Holiday Park.
