Just a stone's throw from the water, Stansbury Caravan Park overlooking Oyster Bay in Stansbury, is the perfect place for exploring Southern Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. Located just over 200km from Adelaide on the opposite side of Gulf St Vincent, Stansbury Caravan Park offers a range of cabins and more than 100 powered caravan sites.
Cabin accommodation includes six Waterfront Ensuite Villas (one with disabled access), and four Ensuite Cabins. The modern, well-appointed Waterfront Ensuite Villas sleep up to 6 and are fully self-contained. Each feature reverse cycle air-conditioning, TV, DVD, Foxtel, a verandah with beach views, and all are connected via a boardwalk. The Ensuite Cabins also sleep up to 6 and are all self-contained. Slightly smaller in size, they feature air-conditioning, TV, DVD, Foxtel, and access to the beach.
If you have a caravan, Stansbury Caravan Park has 23 powered sites right on the beachfront and a further 88 sites throughout the park suitable for caravans, tents or camper trailers. These sites are close to all amenities and park facilities.
The park provides an impressive camp kitchen, modern amenities with guest laundry and children’s bathroom, playground, free WiFi, electric BBQs, fish cleaning bays and dump point. Guests can also enjoy direct beach access with beach shelters and picnic spots, a boat ramp nearby and a great jetty for fishing.
Stansbury Caravan Park enjoys a year-round Mediterranean climate and the sheltered bay attracts swimmers, water-skiers, paddle boarders and windsurfers, while boat anglers can get out into deeper water anytime. It’s also within easy walking distance to the town centre for shopping and a meal at the local pub.
Boaties can look forward to good catches of the prized King George whiting at most times of the year, along with tommy ruffs and squid, while blue swimmer crabs and garfish are plentiful in the warmer months.
If the fish aren’t biting or you fancy a day of doing something different, Yorke Peninsula is compact enough to get to most places within an hour or two. Activities and experiences include surfing, walking trails, shopping, arts and crafts, a round or two of golf, town markets, and exploring the history and heritage of the many towns close by.
