Just 40 minutes from Launceston, you’ll find the riverside town of Beauty Point. Beauty by name as well as by nature, it’s the ideal base for exploring the charms of northern Tasmania’s spectacular Tamar Valley region. With world class wines, picturesque scenery and unique nature experiences on your doorstep, Beauty Point Tourist Park offers a range of accommodation options from spacious camp sites to self-contained cabins and glamping.

Nestled on the banks of the Tamar River only moments from the Beauty Point town centre, Beauty Point Tourist Park boasts river views on both sides and a scenic outlook beyond. Caravanners and campers will appreciate the spacious sites, with a choice of concrete slab or grass to suit your individual needs and hedging for extra privacy.

The park provides a range of self-contained accommodation options, from well-appointed one- and two-bedroom cottages, to roomy family cottages. Larger families and groups will enjoy the 4-bedroom Riverview House, with two bathrooms, full kitchen, and outdoor undercover area just perfect for spreading out and having fun.

There are dog friendly sites and cabins available.

For something extra special, there’s no going past a romantic retreat in the luxury glamping tents. Sleep (almost) under the stars with extra comforts like kitchenette, full bathroom and private deck overlooking the water. Magic!
Beyond the park sample the delights of the Tamar Valley region, known for its wines, craft brewing and local produce. Tamar Valley is Tasmania’s oldest wine regions, so book a wine tour with collection directly from the park to explore local cellar doors known for their cool climate wines, including Cabbage Tree Hill, Winter Brook Vineyard and Tamar Ridge. Taste locally produced honey at Honey Tasmania, explore the working perfumery at nearby Lavender House, or head over to Launceston for a tour of the historic James Boag Brewery.

Nature lovers will love the sweeping national parks and conservation areas, bursting with birdlife and wildlife and unique plants. Beauty Point is home to the world’s first seahorse aquarium, or you can catch a glimpse of the elusive platypus and echidna at Platypus House. Cap off your trip to the region with a visit to the historic Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre to learn about the region’s gold mining past, famous mine rescue and more.
