Park Info
3.5 hours from Melbourne, Victoria’s alpine High Country offers sweeping mountain landscapes and plenty to see and do in the great outdoors all year round. Bright, nestled by the Ovens River, is known for its iconic autumn foliage displays, with outdoor adventure and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Discovery Parks – Bright is located on the banks of the Ovens River, just 7km from the Bright town centre with views over nearby Mount Feathertop. Set among native bushland with sprawling, leafy trees, comfortable picnic areas, lush lawns and plenty of open space, you’ll be relaxing in no time. There is a range of holiday park accommodation options for all travellers.

If you’re arriving with a caravan, camper trailer or tent, choose from a range of campsites. There are powered and unpowered options, grassed or with concrete slab, and some double-sized sites available for big rigs or extra space. No matter the size of your camping set up, there is sure to be an ideal option for you. A number of sites are located on the river bank, so you can enjoy the picturesque water views and wake to the gentle sound of the river as it winds its way to town.

Those looking for a few more creature comforts or a home away from home will enjoy the variety of self-contained accommodation options ranging from convenient one bedroom cabins through to larger options for families and groups.

The Cottage is a fantastic option for families, sleeping up to five people with spacious private deck overlooking the park’s play equipment. Superior cabins have three bedrooms, full kitchen and roomy lounge/dining room. There are spa cabins available in one or two bedrooms with plenty of room to relax in comfort year round.
The Valley View Cottage has picturesque and uninterrupted views to Mount Feathertop, with open log fire for the winter months, king bed in the master bedroom, and large deck for enjoying the scenery.
Little campers will love the playground, bouncing pillow and games room, while mum and dad can enjoy a hit of tennis or a picnic on one of the park’s beautifully lawned areas. The solar heated swimming pool means you can take a dip all year round.

Other fantastic park facilities include multiple BBQ areas and fully equipped modern camp kitchen with herb garden. Mingle with other guests in the spacious outdoor eating area or head to the banks of the river and scope out the ideal picnic spot overlooking the water.

Alternatively, head into the Bright town centre for local restaurants, cafes and bars offering casual and gourmet food experiences. The region is known for producing excellent berries, apples and nuts, and cool climate wines from the nearby Rutherglen wine region are not to be missed.

For lovers of the great outdoors, Bright delivers in spades. There are plenty of local scenic walking trails. The Canyon Walk and Cherry Walk along the riverbank are easy going, while the Razorback between Mount Hotham and Mount Feathertop is more of a challenge. The alpine landscape is perfect for outdoor adventure, with cycling and mountain biking trails for all skill levels and skiing in the winter months. The famous Mount Hotham ski fields are less than an hour’s drive from the park.

A hotspot for adventure enthusiasts and daredevils, Bright also offers high adrenaline activities like hang gliding and paragliding.

While Bright is a fantastic holiday location all year round, the Bright Autumn Festival in April is a calendar highlight. The reds, oranges and gold of the autumn foliage are a photographer’s dream and the ten-day festival includes markets, music and a gala parade.
