Stratford on the River Tourist Park is a convenient 2-hour drive from Melbourne, or a V-line train to Stratford from Melbourne making it an ideal location for a weekend getaway or a family holiday with the kids. The park is also proud of being pet friendly all year round for sites and accommodation.
The park has river frontage complete with breathtaking river views. If you are arriving with a tent or a caravan, the Stratford on the River Tourist Park offers large, shaded, powered sites and camping areas, some which are drive through and others which provide unimpeded river views.
Stratford on the River Tourist Parks offers a range of cabins to suit everyone. Superior two bedroom ensuite cabins offer river views from there balconies, gas fire places for cooler nights, with a well-appointed kitchen and spacious living area, sleeping up to five people. Deluxe two bedroom ensuite cabins which can sleep up to 6 and benefits from a verandah where you can sit of an evening and look straight out on to the Avon River and soak up glorious sunsets. For the budget minded couple and families, there are a number of ensuite cabins providing cosy studio style accommodation, TV, kitchenette and air conditioning which can sleep up to five people. On the grounds, guests are invited to use the undercover BBQs and well-appointed camp kitchen which is complete with TV, microwave, fridge and a heater. When the weather turns chilly, the Stratford on the River Tourist Park has a number of open firepits where guests gather to toast marshmallows and swap tales.
During the hotter weather, guests are welcome to use the adjoining council swimming pool, or dip their feet in the River (or speak to the locals for their favourite swimming holes).
Just a short walk from the tourist park is the medieval themed playground and the start of a paved walking track that follows the River, the start of the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail which is ideal for walking or for taking a bike ride with the children.
