Broken Hill Tourist Park
Park features
And what better way to explore this unique town than from the comfortable self-contained accommodation at Broken Hill Tourist Park, close to the heart of town and all the great tourist attractions that draw visitors to the Silver City.
Whether you’re in a van, camping, or staying in self-contained accommodation, Broken Hill Tourist Park has a range of stay options. Think luxurious cabins to powered caravan and camping sites, plus a range of facilities and amenities that match anything the big city tourist parks offer.
Broken Hill accommodation doesn’t get any better with Superior cabins that sleep four, Deluxe cabins that sleep six, and a range of Ensuite cabins that can cater for two to four people. All cabins are self-contained and feature reverse-cycle air-conditioning, TV, full kitchen or kitchenette, ensuite bathroom, and all linen and towels. The Superior and Deluxe cabins also feature open-plan living areas with a sofa and a balcony for alfresco dining.
If you’re in a van or camping, there are powered sites, ensuite sites, drive-through sites, and unpowered sites available.
Outstanding park facilities include sparkling swimming pool, playground, BBQ area, camp kitchen, park-wide wifi, guest laundry, dump point, and a kiosk/store with a tour desk.
With a mining heritage that dates back to 1885, Broken Hill today is a modern, thriving regional city of some 17,000 people. As Australia’s first heritage-listed town, a tour of the mines is a ‘must-do’ as is a visit to the many museums and memorials, a Broken Hill pub crawl, and day trips to Silverton where many classic Aussie films were made, plus the stunning Meningie Lakes.
There is a thriving arts community encompassing everything from traditional painting, murals and street art to sculptures and environmental installations. In fact, the more than 20 galleries outnumber the pubs!
And if you’re a nature lover and into indigenous culture, there are plenty of National Parks within easy reach that provide walking trails and picnic areas, plus extraordinary examples of local Aboriginal art.
Finally, foodies aren’t forgotten with restaurants, pubs, cafés, and takeaways providing plenty of tasty options. And for something out of the ordinary, make Bell’s Milk Bar a ‘must-visit’.
