Park Info

If you’re travelling in New South Wales, perhaps between Melbourne and Sydney, make sure you stop at Junee in the Riverina district. This historic railway town has a lot to offer visitors and you can make your base at welcoming Junee Tourist Park.

Located 30 minutes from Wagga Wagga and two and half hours from Canberra, Junee Tourist Park is set on five acres with lake frontage in the heart of the town. This means your accommodation is within walking distance of all Junee’s attractions and eateries.

Junee Tourist Park offers a great range of holiday cabins. Cabin accommodation can sleep between two and six people and includes Superior, Superior Plus, Deluxe, Standard, plus a Bungalow and the Gumnut Bedsitter.

The cabins are self-contained and feature air-conditioning, heating, TV, full kitchen or kitchenette, microwave, ceiling fans, sofa (some), and all linen supplied. While the Bungalow doesn’t have a bathroom, it is close to the amenities block. All cabins include parking for one car.

Caravan and camping sites are grassy and shady, and can accommodate large motorhomes. The sites are dog-friendly and close to all the park’s amenities and facilities.

Facilities at your Junee accommodation include a shaded swimming pool, camp kitchen, children’s playground, dump point, BBQs, campfire, guest laundry, kiosk, and park-wide Wi-Fi.

Junee is a beautiful little town with a rich heritage centred around railways. Even today, the XPT train between Melbourne and Sydney still stops at Junee. Make sure you visit Junee Roundhouse Rail Museum, where the largest locomotive turntable in the Southern Hemisphere still operates. Rail enthusiasts should also check out Bethungra Spiral, the only example of a 360-degree spiral in Australia. There’s a three-day Rhythm & Rail Festival held every March that celebrates the town’s rail heritage along with live music, local produce, food and wine.

If that sounds tempting, you’ll love the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory. It’s open seven days and you can take a tour to see how the licorice and chocolate is made. If your timing is right, you can visit the Junee Produce Markets every second Sunday. The town also has many eateries and pubs for a relaxing meal.

The best way to see and experience Junee and its link to the past is to do a heritage walk. Other touring attractions include the haunted Monte Cristo Historic Homestead, Bethungra Olde School T-House, and the Broadway Museum. Don’t forget to give the statue of legendary sports commentator Ray Warren a nod as you pass.

Junee is the perfect spot to rest and relax before continuing your Riverina journey. And with a fabulous range of attractions, excellent Junee accommodation and facilities, you’ll quickly fall in love with the town and with Junee Tourist Park.
