Mildura is a beautiful part of the river with wide, grassy banks, shaded by river gums, paddle steamers, houseboats, and canoeing treks. The town it steeped in history, with the Millewa Pioneer Park and Langtree Hall Museum with a large collection of international dolls, christening gowns, toys and embroidery.
 
Mildura is a favourite with foodies, home to many wonderful wine-ing and dining experiences at cellar doors and gin distilleries. You might not expect boutique bars in regional Australia but Mildura has them aplenty or try local produce from the Sunraysia Farmers market or at the farm café at Varapodio Estate.
 
The kids will love the tractor train ride around Orange World as the family learns about avocado, citrus farming nearby.
