Park Info

If you’re searching for hidden treasure, X marks the spot at Keppel Sands Caravan Park.

Only 100 metres from the waterfront, this quiet park offers large powered and unpowered sites that are big enough to welcome every kind of caravan, campervan, or motorhome, not to mention your boat. There are also a handful of cabins that make the perfect holiday home.

So close to the shoreline, it’s easy to spend the day swimming, boating, and water skiing, but above all, this is a fishing town! Keppel Sands lures many travellers with the chance to fish for enormous Spanish Mackerel or go crabbing, with reef, estuary, rock, and deep-sea catches at your fingertips. It’s a short walk to the Keppel Sands Lookout, which overlooks the surrounding islands, and the play equipment and picnic facilities at Schofield Park. After your adventures, have fun playing mini golf or splashing around in the pool. The camp kitchen is a great place to meet other travellers over mealtimes.

Formerly known as The Sandhills, Keppel Sands is a tranquil fishing township with two boat ramps. Send a postcard of your travels from the post office or take a night off cooking to enjoy a pizza at the Keppel Sands Hotel/Motel. There are beautiful walks and bike trails to get active and see the beauty of Keppel Sands.

In half an hour, you can reach the seaside towns of Emu Park and Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast or the buzz of Rockhampton’s museums, gardens, and free zoo. The Koorana Crocodile Farm is only ten minutes away, or drive a little further for a day trip to the Capricorn Caves.

There’s no better feeling that relaxing in a camp chair, watching the sunset light up the sky, before saying hello to the stars at night. For a peaceful getaway, start plotting your next holiday to Keppel Sands Caravan Park today.
