Bailey Bar Caravan Park
Park features
If you’re bringing your caravan or camper trailer, that’s fine too and if you’re not that confident in parking your van, no stress. They offer assisted parking!
Charleville is a rural service centre on the Warrego River and the Southern Queensland base for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Check out the regular camp oven dinners and hobby horse racing events to help support this important service while enjoying some great outback hospitality.
If you prefer to cook your own dinner, Bailey Bar Caravan Park’s onsite BBQs may be just for you. They’re undercover, so great to use all year round. The camp kitchen is another terrific onsite amenity and well set up to help you enjoy your camping experience.
Located close to town, head out to explore a great range of shops and cafes and historical buildings telling tales of the regions pioneer history.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service Visitor Centre makes for an interesting visit too and outlines the story of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, which is now an invaluable service for outback and remote Australia. For those people keen to relive their school days, the Charleville School of Distance Education, might just put a new spin on your memories. Formerly School of the Air, the school was established in 1966, when radio lessons were conducted from the Royal Flying Doctor Base.
Young and old will enjoy the Bilby Centre located at Charleville Railway Station and the Cosmos Centre and Observatory. It’s the perfect place to experience the wonders of our beautiful outback skies. On a clear night, you’ll be able to view the incredible beauty of the Milky Way Galaxy and the Centre’s guides will help you see star clusters, planets, the moon and binary stars.
