THINGS TO SEE & DO NEAR KING REEF RESORT

One of the best parts of staying on Kurrimine Beach is that it’s a small, safe town. This makes it an ideal retreat for the whole family and a place where you can truly rediscover quality time in nature.

At low tide rock pools reveal themselves with plenty of coral to explore, while the tropical shaded pool is always a great spot for a refreshing family dip.

Nearby reefs provide the perfect day trip opportunity and if fishing is your thing, there’s no shortage of charters that will take you  to the very best spots. Choose from the beach, estuary or reefs – all within less than 1km. Even without a boat, beach fishing is superb here, with species like flathead, whiting, mackerel and tuna never in short supply.

Surrounded by conservation rainforest and national parks, King Reef Resort is an ideal location to dive into the best of Far North Queensland.

Attractions worth including on any holiday itinerary include the popular swimming hole Alligators Nest; Babina Boulders, a picturesque picnic and swimming spot; and Bicton Hill Circuit Track, a steady climb around hill slopes that culminate in spectacular views of the region.

Closer to home, the park is blessed with large grassy areas where a game of volleyball or beach cricket is never hard to achieve.

ON SITE FOOD & BEVERAGE

Featuring the best of fresh, local produce – not to mention stunning views of the water – the bistro staff here are always looking to deliver the best dining experiences in the region.

The beachfront bar is a popular spot for locals and travellers, with a wide range of wines, cocktails and a wide variety of beers on tap.

If café cruising is more your style, the King Reef Café is open daily from 7am to 2:30pm. Takeaway is available but not to be eaten at the hotel tables.
