As one of Australia’s finest historic gold-mining towns, there’s lots to love about a trip to Beechworth.
Ideal for those looking to recharge the batteries and reconnect with nature, there’s also heritage architecture, boutique shopping and gourmet food, beer and wine to discover. Wander amongst the elms and oaks that are a highlight of the Lake Sambell to Lake Kerferd walk, hike from Powder Magazine or take a short picnic drive to cascading Woolshed Falls, where gold diggers once camped along the banks of Spring Creek. You can also choose to while away the hours boating, swimming and exploring the reserves around Lake Sambell, or if life on two wheels is your thing, Beechworth and the surrounding hills are full of exciting mountain bike trails.
Conveniently located inside Beechworth Public Recreation Reserve, on the banks of Lake Sambell, Beechworth Lake Sambell Caravan Park has accommodation options to suit families, couples and larger groups. Whether you’re bringing the caravan, pitching the tent or staying in any of our fully self-contained cabins or villas, we have a range of options to suit everyone’s needs.
The spacious Lakeview Villas are great for families or two couples and are suitable for up to 5 people with two separate bedrooms with one queen and one double bed and one separate bathroom and shower. Enjoy views of Lake Sambell from your verandah, make use of the fully operational kitchenette and enjoy the comfort of split system heating and cooling all year round. A flat screen TV in the main bedroom and lounge as well as a DVD player are also supplied for your enjoyment.
The family cabins sleep up to 6people and all have great views of the lake. Fully-self contained, they contain one double bed and two double-bunks. Electric blankets are provided on the main beds and all beds come with pillows. The main beds are made up with linen and towels are supplied for 2 people.
The smallest cabins are pet-friendly studios and perfect for a couple with young children. They have one main bedroom and 2 single bunk beds and a fully enclosed verandah with lockable gate.
For caravan and campers, the park has more than 50 powered and 70 unpowered sites set amongst the shade along the banks of Spring Creek. The generously sized level sites all have concrete slabs for caravans and motorhomes and include sullage and taps which provide town water. Campfires are permitted in designated areas or the park will provide movable fire bins and firewood to allow your own personal campfire. Our permanent on-site caravans are also available and can accommodate up to six people on one double bed and 4 bunk beds. All of these will require you to bring your own sheets, blankets and towels, and are located only a short walk from the amenities block.
