Eldorado Caravan Park
Park features
Eldorado Caravan Park is the ultimate hidden treasure in Victoria’s north-east.
The park has beautiful green spaces, along with BBQs, an outdoor wash-up area, a laundry, and amenities blocks. All powered and unpowered campsites are pet-friendly, and you can hire a fire pit all year round (subject to weather conditions and fire ban days). For accommodation, there is a selection of Shepherd’s Hut cabins for families and couples. These modern cabins have private kitchen and bathroom facilities, along with a sunlit deck to soak up the country air and a BBQ for dinnertime. In addition, spacious glamping tents are set on a raised deck with your own BBQ and microwave.
Eldorado Caravan Park is located on the town’s main street, meaning you’re only minutes from the general store, post office, and – best of all – the pub. The McEvoy Tavern is the smallest pub in Victoria, but it’s got some of the best food and drink out there. This former gold-mining town is perfect for adventure seekers who want to spend their holiday swimming, hiking through national parks, and cycling the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. For a touch of the town’s history, the Eldorado Dredge is a must-visit, and you can go gold panning in Reedy Creek or drop into the Eldorado Museum.
Just 17 kilometres from Wangaratta and 30 kilometres from Beechworth, there’s plenty of day trips and scenic drives to be enjoyed. You’ll find local markets in neighbouring towns, while the King Valley Wine Region is brimming with cellar door wine tastings and Italian fare. The twin cities of Albury–Wodonga are also less than an hour away.
Forget the City of Gold—set your sights on Eldorado Caravan Park for your next getaway.
Getting to Eldorado Caravan Park
Eldorado Caravan Park is three hours north-east of Melbourne, the nearest capital city. Follow the Hume Freeway to Wangaratta, where you’ll turn left at the roundabout onto Great Alpine Road, then immediately right onto Detour Road, then right onto Wangaratta-Eldorado Road. When you arrive in Eldorado, drive along the Main Street and the park is on your left.
