Wangaratta Caravan Park
Park features
Wangaratta Caravan Park is the Victorian high country’s best kept secret, and it’s eagerly awaiting your arrival.
Around the park, you’ll find a bunch of handy facilities to make your experience a treat, including a solar-heated swimming pool, playground, camp kitchen, BBQs, laundry, dump point, and an off-leash dog play area. The park is pet-friendly, and pups are allowed to stay on powered sites. Camping or caravanning? Grassed sites or gravel sites with mats? Small campsites for tents or large, rig-friendly, drive-through sites? No matter what kind of powered site you’re after, they’ve got one for you.
If you prefer self-contained accommodation, there are one and two-bedroom cabins and cottages available for booking, which all come with a private bathroom, kitchenette, air conditioning, and a TV. Plus, certain cabins have balconies, so that you can enjoy mealtimes, board games, and happy hour drinks on an outdoor deck.
You’ll be blown away by how much there is to see and do around Wangaratta. Browse the Wangaratta Art Gallery or catch a show at the Wangaratta Performing Arts and Convention Centre. Take a self-guided stroll along the Wangaratta Heritage Trail or the Ovens River boardwalk. Ride the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, have a hit of golf, or enjoy nearby hikes.
Neighbouring towns also promise bucketloads of adventures. Take Eldorado, for instance - a historic goldmining town where you can go fossicking, visit the enormous dredge, or stop in at the McEvoy Tavern (Victoria’s smallest pub, with a big heart). Glenrowan is home to the Ned Kelly story at Kellyland, not to mention a quality wine region and the hike up Mount Glenrowan. It’s just over half an hour’s drive to the Brookefield Maze or the charming town of Beechworth, and you can happily spend a day exploring the nearby North East Silo Art Trail. Best of all, this is a hotspot for gourmet experiences - highlights include the King Valley Wine Region (featuring cellar doors like Brown Brothers and Sam Miranda) and the Milawa Gourmet Region.
