Park Info

The scenery at Balanggarra Home Valley is truly magnificent to behold, located on the Kimberley region’s famous Gibb River Road.

From the moment you drive through the Boab tree entrance, you’ll be greeted with unbeatable river and mountain views. Whether you’ve come for riverside camping, the stunning tours and walking trails, or the unbeatable sense of community, Balanggarra Home Valley delivers in spades.

Park amenities include a tour desk, swimming pool, playground, amenities blocks, washing machines and clotheslines, a helipad, and an airstrip. The general store is open daily from 7am to 6pm, and there is a multipurpose space for conferences and events. Best of all, Dusty’s Bar and Grill is right on site for the best food and drink. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this outback pub serves up locally inspired meals (from fresh-caught barramundi to bush tucker), accompanied by cold beers and live entertainment. It’s a quintessential Aussie dining experience.

To fully immerse yourself in the surroundings, camp on a powered or unpowered site. There are two campgrounds—the Homestead Camp is located closer to facilities, while the Pentecost River Bush camp is closer to the scenery and sunset views. Forage for your own firewood before starting a campfire in designated fire pits. The campground is dog-friendly, as long as your furry pal stays on a leash.

Alternately, for a harmonious balance of comfort and nature, stay in a Homestead Deluxe Room (which are wheelchair accessible) or a Riverside Suite. Guests in these rooms also gain access to a smaller, exclusive swimming pool.

Balanggarra Home Valley runs a series of unforgettable tours, to complement their beautiful self-guided hiking and walking trails. Offerings include a Walking Station Tour, to learn about the history of the land, cultural insights, and special locations around the station; a Sunset Tour, complete with drinks and nibbles; and a Fishing Tour, where a local guide will help you reel in a big catch, ready to cook up back at the park. In prime position beside the Pentecost River, Balanggarra Home Valley is a beacon for barramundi fishers, especially in the warmer months of May and September/October. Plus, the Pentecost River Lookout is just five minutes from the station.

Boab trees, bush tucker, birdlife, barramundi … make your booking to visit Balanggarra Home Valley!
