On the Moree Plains Shire in northern New South Wales, Moree Tourist Park enjoys an enviable location on the edge of Moree town centre, and close to the banks of the relaxing Mehi River.
Known as the Spa Capital of Australia because of its hot artesian spring baths, the region attracts a diverse range of visitors who enjoy its relaxed pace of life, agricultural history, and a dip in its warm artesian waters, which are famed for their healing qualities.
Also famous for its part in the establishment of Australia’s cotton-growing industry in the early 1960s, Moree was founded in the 1850s when settlers James and Mary Brand arrived from the districts to begin the town’s General Store. Descendants of the traditional land owners, the Weraerai and Kamilaroi people still live in the town, whose name means ‘long waterhole’ or ‘rising sun’ in the Kamilaroi language.
Variously affected by flooding to the Moree Plains Shire, Moree maintains a small population of around 7,500 according to the most recent census figures, but this number expands with travellers who come to the area to enjoy the healing properties of the water (and life) in this semi-rural part of northern NSW.

Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre is not far away, offering several pools and spa’s filled with natural Artesian bore water from their own private bore.
Inside the park there are several shared facilities to improve your stay. These include a well-maintained amenities block, a large swimming pool and multiple BBQ areas available to all guests. A Camp Kitchen has everything you need to enjoy a home-cooked meal, there are outdoor living areas to enjoy the great outdoors, a coin-operated laundry is there for your convenience, and a general air of calm is ever present throughout the property. Time goes slowly here, but not as slowly as you might like!
Pets are allowed on all powered and unpowered sites, however, must be kept on a leash at all times throughout the park. They cannot enter the amenities block, swimming areas, BBQ areas or go inside the park’s cabins.
