Townsville is the gateway to Queensland’s tropical far north with access to all the great holiday experiences the region is known for. Set in tropical landscaped gardens in the centre of Townsville, Townsville Tourist and Lifestyle Village is a great spot to explore this colourful North Queensland city.
Located just 15 kilometres from the CBD, Townsville Tourist and Lifestyle Village is ideally situated to enjoy all there is to see and do in the Townsville region.
Venture out of the park to enjoy alfresco dining on The Strand, a 2.2km-long café-lined waterfront parkway with a free water adventure playground for the kids. More eateries and shops and local markets can be found on both Flinders and Palmer Streets and in City Lane – a sophisticated, New York inspired dining precinct.
Tours leave the port for the Great Barrier Reef and islands or you can simply enjoy the reef without getting wet at Reef HQ the world’s largest living coral reef aquarium. And for a sunset you’ll never forget, take a hike up to the top of Castle Hill and marvel at the 360-degree panoramic views.
Then, of course, there are glorious beaches for swimming, paddle-boarding, sailing and high-powered water sports. A short distance away you can take a bush hike in Girringun National Park where bushland gives way to tropical rainforest and the magnificent Wallaman Falls – the longest single drop waterfall in Australia.
Close to all the tourist hot spots, the Townsville Tourist and Lifestyle Village offers a range of superb cabins, and plenty of great sites for caravanners, camper trailers and campers.
The Deluxe 1 and 2-bedroom cabins are nothing short of fabulous. Modern, contemporary, and tastefully appointed, they are self-contained with kitchen and bathroom, fully air-conditioned and feature a flat-screen TV, DVD player, spacious lounge and dining area, large patio with table and seating, and linen.
Ensuite cabins are self-contained and feature open-plan living area with dining table and couch, air-conditioning and digital TV, air conditioning and digital television, patio with outdoor seating, plus linen and towels. Parking is available for both cabins.
The park provides large, shady, sites that are close to all amenities with a choice of either grassed or concrete slab and in a beautiful tropical setting. Some are drive-through and dogs are welcome.
Guests have their pick of 2 swimming pools - a family-friendly sail-shaded recreation pool and the other a 20-metre heated lap pool. There are also two extensive camp kitchen/BBQ areas, guest laundry, and brand new, spotlessly clean amenities blocks.
