Kingston Foreshore Caravan Park
Park features
Set between the spectacular Coorong National Park of ‘Storm Boy’ fame and the historic gourmet Limestone Coast region, Kingston Foreshore Caravan has the region’s food and wine, fishing, and natural beauty at its doorstep.
If you fancy a break from the beach, you can take a historical tour of the town to uncover its shipping, agriculture, fishing and commercial past. Get the kids to tell the time at the analemmic sun dial or venture out into the surrounding region, jam-packed with food and wine experiences. Try cool climate wines at Mt Benson, just 20 minutes away or take a 90-minute drive to the Coonawarra region, famous for its cabernets.
Visitors are spoiled for choice in things to do around the region, including the fascinating Umpherston Sinkhole in Mt Gambier, a cave created by eroding limestone rock, turned into a beautiful sunken garden. There’s also the World Heritage-listed Naracoorte Caves nearby – a fascinating look into geological history with layers of fossils. 4 are open to the public for self or guided tours
And if surfing is your thing, look no further than picturesque Robe, 20 minutes up the road and home to fabulous restaurants, cafes and boutiques. The Robe surf is suitable for surfers of all abilities; it has a number of surf schools and is almost as popular with windsurfers.
The magic of the region is all within easy reach of Kingston Foreshore Caravan Park and there is a range of accommodation to suit. The 2-bedroom family and 1 and 2-bedroom ensuite cabins provide comfy accommodation for up to 6 people, with air conditioning, gas heating, kitchen, bathroom, and TV. The budget studio cabins provide a warm comfy bed, a place to cook breakfast, and a private spot to sit and relax with bathroom facilities not far away.
Grassy, dog-friendly caravan sites are close to the beach and many have a fabulous view (dogs not allowed during peak periods). The park has both powered and unpowered sites available, all with access to the camp kitchen, WiFi, BBQs laundry and amenities. There’s even the bushman’s TV – a firepit for campfires.
