Millicent Hillview Caravan Park, in Millicent, the heart of South Australia’s prosperous South East agricultural region, has the treasures of the Limestone Coast at its feet. The park is just 2.5 km SE from the Millicent town centre, just off the Mt Gambier Road (Princes Highway) and is midway between Melbourne and Adelaide.
Within easy reach of stunning coastline and world-class food and wine, Millicent is the ideal base from which to explore the Limestone Coast and surrounds. It’s just minutes away from the Tantanoola Caves, famous for being the prettiest caves in Australia, as well as the Canunda National Park coastal reserve – a favourite of 4-wheel drivers and fishers. You can try your luck for mulloway, salmon, sharks and stingrays, as well as sweep abalone and crayfish from the rocks.
There’s also fabulous bushwalks, rich with wildlife and birds, as well as snorkelling in the offshore reefs. Millicent is just 30 minutes from Beachport with its wonderful surf beach and 50 minutes from the buzzing town of Robe, popular for its surf beaches, fabulous restaurants, cafes and boutiques.
Visitors also love to drive through pine forests to explore the region, venturing forth to picturesque Mt Gambier with its volcano crater Blue Lake and the nearby ancient Naracoorte caves. Wine lovers will be tempted to take the 45-minute drive to the Coonawarra for a tasting tour of some of the world’s best cabernet sauvignon and shiraz formed from the russet terra rossa clay it is grown from with underlying limestone influencing the ripeness and wine flavour. With fresh seafood, premium beef and lamb, and dairy products, as well as artisan goods, world class restaurants and cellar doors, the region is a foodie heaven.
Millicent Hillview Caravan Park is a friendly and peaceful park with shady caravan sites on sheltered grass or bushland style sites. There are even on-site vans with outdoor furniture for hire. Guests are invited to sit around the campfire or enjoy the sunrise over the Mt Burr Ranges.
The park provides free unlimited WiFi, BBQ, linen hire, clean amenities, gas refills and rainwater – the local knowledge of tourism attractions and 4-wheel driving on the beaches is also free! The accommodation ranges from airconditioned 3 and 2-room ensuite cabins with kitchen, dining, deck and smart TV to 1-room open plan cabins with kitchenette, smart TV, ensuite, double bed and bunks with heating and ceiling fan.
