Park Info
With its spectacular natural scenery, crystal clear waters, harbour and sheltered sandy beaches, Emu Point in Albany, Western Australia, is a favourite with families, fishers and honeymooners. And with beachfront access, spectacular ocean views and a park setting, Acclaim Rose Gardens Beachfront Holiday Park is the ideal spot from which to explore the many treasures Albany has to offer, from whale watching to the National Anzac Centre. Emu Point is nestled between the best of both beach worlds with a boat harbour for vessels up to 20m in Oyster Bay and a sheltered swimming spot in King George Sound at the northern end of Middleton Beach. Guests can also explore the nearby Gull Rock National Park. Emu Point Beach has a grassy sheltered area for picnics, a calm shallow beach to swim or kayak in and Percy the pelican is a frequent visitor – especially when the fishers are cleaning their catch. Albany is steeped in history, rich with museums, galleries and colonial buildings. From here, you can learn about Australia’s whaling history, check out Whale World and marvel at whales in their natural environment. Seafood features on the menus of many of the local restaurants but Asian restaurants, pizza and cafes are all within easy reach. World-class wines, fishing, surfing, diving, hiking and 4W-driving are at your fingertips. It’s an easy drive to the Porongorup Ranges as well as the town of Denmark.
There’s also plenty to do without leaving the holiday park. Caravanners and campers can stretch out on manicured lawns under a canopy of trees while the kids play in the playground or in the activities room. Alternatively, guests can choose from a range of well-appointed cabins – some with ocean views – to suit all budgets. The park is well-equipped with a kiosk, tour desk, camp kitchen, and laundry and there’s a sports club with bowling and tennis facilities next door. Caravanners and campers are also welcome to bring their small dogs.
