Park Info

Your beachfront getaway to Western Australia’s Coral Coast starts at Sunset Beach Holiday Park.

Powered sites include drive-through sites and large, motorhome-friendly spaces. Cabins range from tidy motel units with all the necessities for a comfy stay, to deluxe chalets with ample room for families and groups. Pets are welcome at camping and caravan sites; dogs must be on a leash and supervised at all times. There are limited wheelchair-friendly and pet-friendly chalets - for more information, please enquire before making your booking. Park facilities include two camp kitchens, gas BBQs, a swimming pool, a playground, amenities blocks (including a disabled bathroom), and a dump point. There is a small shopping mall at the top of the street with a supermarket, pharmacy, and bottle shop.

As its name suggests, Sunset Beach is a beautiful spot to bring your takeaway fish and chips and watch the setting sun over the Indian Ocean. Swim, snorkel, surf, and build sandcastles on bright, sunny days - and when the southerly wind blows, it’s time for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Beach fishing is popular, as are long walks on the soft sand.

Geraldton is only ten minutes’ drive away or a 30-minute walk along the beach. Known for its beaches and wildflowers, in Geraldton, you’ll find shops, street art, cafés, restaurants, galleries, a museum, and a visitor centre. Drive to Point Moore for the red and white candy-striped Point Moore Lighthouse and ocean views, or share a picnic on the town foreshore with its family friendly splash park. There are many landmarks and sculptures, including the moving national memorial for the HMAS Sydney 2. St Francis Xavier Cathedral is a work of art, and on your way back to the park, see the sun and sea reflected in the Horizon sphere (“the Big Marble”).

From Sunset Beach and Geraldton, there are adventures in every direction. The pink lake at Hutt Lagoon is an hour’s drive or scenic flight away, and Chapman Valley Fishing Park offers hours of fun for keen fishers. Cruise the Yamaji Drive Trail to discover the region’s Aboriginal history and observe incredible scenery. Take a charter boat or scenic flight to the Abrolhos Islands to find coral reefs, bird and marine life, and exquisite beaches. After the day’s travels, relax with a glass of wine or cold beer, admiring the sunset colours over the lapping waves.
