Shoalhaven
Shoalhaven | New south wales
A holiday haven south of the city
Far from just another stretch of stunning New South Wales coastline, the Shoalhaven region has long been a drawcard for surfers, families, and solo travellers. From sublime beaches and sparkling hinterland to spectacular national parks and diverse wildlife, there is so much to see and do in this region it’s no surprise holidaymakers have been returning here for generations.
Known around the world for its relaxed surf culture, communities have formed around beaches like Mollymook and Culburra, where wave riders of all types get their daily morning fix. The Shoalhaven River flows through Nowra and is a popular area for kayaking and other adventure-based activities, while challenging hikes exist in National Parks that stretch from Jervis Bay to Ulladulla and beyond.
Encompassing 49 individual towns, each with their unique charm and distinctive south coast characteristics, the area plays host to a full calendar of annual events and has developed into a thriving hub for the creative arts.
