Picture this: guests lounging in one of their two charming first-floor apartments, soaking in the breathtaking views of the Clyde River. Talk about a room with a view! And if you’re more of an outdoorsy type, fear not! Their spacious camping area is surrounded by lush gardens and towering trees, providing the ultimate backdrop for outdoor adventures. Plus, they've got generous sites equipped with everything needed, including a handy camp kitchen and a covered BBQ area for those epic cookouts.
Need to freshen up after a day of fun in the sun? Bathroom facilities are just a stone's throw away, along with a convenient large laundry for all washing needs.
But here's the best part: they're not just any ol' Caravan Park - they're a family-owned and operated establishment with a rich history dating back to 1965. Their founders, Elsie and Bert Lewis, stumbled upon this gem during a motorbike camping trip and decided to make it their own. They lovingly named it Rio Rita after their trusty boat, which brought them luck during a particularly harrowing sea voyage.
Although Elsie and Bert are no longer with them, their legacy lives on in every corner of their little oasis. From the stunning gardens Elsie planted to the sturdy buildings Bert constructed with a little help from their son Abby, their presence is felt in every nook and cranny.
In the late '70s, Sharon and Abby took the helm, allowing Elsie and Bert to kick back and enjoy the fruits of their labor. And they've been spreading joy and creating memories ever since. So come on down to Rio Rita Caravan Park, where the sun shines bright, the beach beckons, and the memories are waiting to be made!
