Discovery Resorts - Kings Canyon
Park features
From relaxing by the pool or enjoying a drink at Kings Canyon Bar & Grill to exploring Watarrka National Park or walking the rim of the stunning Kings Canyon, Discovery Resorts - Kings Canyon offers easy access to some of the Red Centre’s most iconic experiences.
Located at the very heart of the Red Centre, halfway between Uluru and Alice Springs, all major roads leading into the property are sealed, however alternative routes will require a 4WD.
Powered and unpowered sites are available all-year round. Or reward your journey here with a stay in our newly refurbished Standard Rooms, our Superior Glamping Tents or enjoy a private balcony and free-standing bath in one of our Deluxe Spa Rooms.
All guests get access to the amenities, which include several dining options, two pools, a convenience store, and a petrol station. A front row ticket to the stunning star show that happens every night in the sky above comes free!
Live music, family-friendly games, and the chance to socialise with other travellers at the Kings Canyon Bar & Grill should not be missed, nor the chance to dine under a million stars and treat yourself to an intimate dining experience with the Under a Desert Moon experience – complete with seasonal menu to complement the region and surrounds.
Whilst on site, discover Light-Towers a sound and light installation by acclaimed British artist Bruce Munro. Experience the wonder of 69 light towers, changing colour to soundscape against the incredible backdrop of Kings Canyon. Be sure to book before you arrive to secure your spot.
Indigenous culture should also be front of mind here, so the Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience is highly recommended. This immersive one-hour tour is led by a member of the local Indigenous community, and will take you through bush tucker, language, and medicinal workshops, while explaining First Nation’s people’s connectedness to the land.
Peak season at Discovery Resorts - Kings Canyon is between June and September, so its especially advisable that you book online in advance if you’re planning on travelling then. This is one of the most picturesque campgrounds on the famous Red Centre Way.
