Park Info

When it comes to outstanding outback getaways, Longreach Tourist Park is the place to be.

If you’ve come to camp, they’ve got a powered site for you, including drive-through, ensuite, and slab sites. These are all pet-friendly, so your pooch is all set to join the road trip. The park has extra-large sites that are perfect for RVs and big rigs, as well as a fenced, grassed area for tents and swags. For those seeking cabin accommodation (sorry, no pets allowed), there are self-contained studio and two-bedroom cabins with the modern comforts to make your stay special.

On hot days, dive into the swimming pool. Kids can hang out on the playground, and you can get local travel tips at the tour desk. Don’t fear the dusty outback—stay clean and dry thanks to the amenities blocks and laundry facilities. When it comes to mealtimes, there are free BBQ areas and a fully equipped camp kitchen.

The park is located just two kilometres away from the town centre and the Longreach Historic Railway Station, making it easy to get around all the attractions this outback location has to share. Immerse yourself in the history of Australia’s most iconic airline at the QANTAS Founders Museum, where you can even book a specialty experience and walk out on the wing of a Boeing 747. The storytelling doesn’t stop there; check out the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, Longreach Powerhouse and Historical Museum, or the many experiences on offer at Outback Pioneers. To get out and about in nature, walk through Iningai Nature Reserve, drive a couple of hours to explore Lochern National Park, or head to the Thomson River to enjoy fishing, picnics, and water activities.

At the end of the day, don’t miss the striking colours of an outback sunset. Then, head straight to the park’s on-site eatery! The Woolshed Bar and Grill is open Monday to Saturday from March to December. The bar starts serving drinks at 4pm, and meals can be ordered from 5pm onwards. They specialise in classic outback meals, with the country hospitality to match.

Ready to give the outback a red-hot crack? Book your getaway to Longreach Tourist Park and let the good times roll.
