Close to the centre of town and even closer to the beach, Strahan Beach Tourist Park is a great base for exploring Tasmania’s West Coast.
Guests love this park’s proximity to the centre of town, the beach and the newly refurbished West Coast Wilderness Railway, which travels through some of the region's most diverse landscape between Strahan and Queenstown.
Literally a stone’s throw from the pristine sand of Strahan Beach, overall Strahan Beach Touristy Park is well known as an affordable, family and pet-friendly hub for travellers on a budget.
ACCOMMODATION
All cabins inside Strahan Beach Tourist Park are self-contained, airconditioned and able to sleep between two and six, with one accessible cabin available for travellers with wheelchairs or walkers.
Beds range from queen-size to bunks, and each cabin includes a television, DVD player, stove top, refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a good supply of utensils and other cookware.
The ensuite bathrooms include a shower and toiletries, and some come with a bar fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, and cable-TV. Every cabin includes a dining table, sofa and self-parking right by your door.
The campground is made up of a mixture of grassed or gravel slabbed powered sites and grassed unpowered sites. All sites have access to the parks full range of amenities.
If you are traveling with your family pet, they are welcome to stay with you on our campgrounds or in cabins with the park manager's approval.
The front desk is open daily from 8 AM - 6 PM. To make arrangements for check-in please contact the property ahead of time using the information on the booking confirmation. If you are planning to arrive after 6 PM please contact the property in advance using the information on the booking confirmation. Guests must contact the property in advance for check-in instructions. Front desk staff will greet guests on arrival.
INSIDE THE PARK
Facilities inside Strahan Beach Tourist Park include a 24-hour coin-operated laundry with iron and ironing board, a TV room with its own fire pit (firewood is available for purchase at reception) a barbecue and kitchen area, a semi-fenced children’s playground and a separate toilet and shower block with hot water.
The communal laundry includes two coin-operated washing machines and two dryers plus a clothesline, ironing board and iron.
The combined camp kitchen and BBQ area has everything you need to self-cater your West Coast trip. The area is semi-enclosed and fitted out with a new kitchen and two free to use electric BBQs. Guests can make use of free DVD hire from reception, an arcade games room, and the TV room with its own fire pit.
During the school holidays, for 2 to 3 hours from Monday to Friday, there is a day programme where you can leave your children in the care of a qualified child-care educator. If you want to bring your pet, please contact the park manager in advance of your stay and make arrangements.
GETTING TO STRAHAN BEACH TOURIST PARK
If you are driving from Hobart, take the A10 and follow it west until you reach the town of Strahan. The journey takes around 4 hours. Once you reach Strahan, the tourist park is located on Beach Street, just off The Esplanade. Strahan has a small airport, but flights are limited. The nearest major airport is in Hobart.
