Park Info

On the shoreline of Lake Eildon in Victoria’s high country, there’s no such thing as a bad view at Howqua Valley Holiday Park.

Everything you need is on-site, from scenery and entertainment to food and necessities. There’s a resort-style lagoon pool overlooking the lake, a colourful playground, and an entertaining 9-hole mini golf course. The park often runs kids’ activities – including movie nights, arts and crafts, and colouring-in competitions – so be sure to ask what’s on during your stay when you check in. Facilities also include a camp kitchen, BBQ, function room, basketball court, laundries, and amenities blocks. Their general store and bottle shop is open seven days a week selling fresh produce, morning cuppas, fishing bait and gear, and delicious takeaway meals. From bacon and egg rolls to baked potatoes, enjoy homely cooking that you can take back to your cabin or site.

Thanks to the park’s sloped location, its cabin views are spectacular. Studio ensuite cabins and deluxe spa cabins have modern alfresco undercover dining, private bathrooms, and all linen provided. Meanwhile, luxury spa cottages and miners cottages are positioned at the top of the park for a great outlook over the water. These cottages are equipped with a wood-look gas fireplace, balcony, kitchen, private bathroom, washing machine, and dishwasher.

Powered and unpowered sites are set on the foreshore, metres from the lake beside unrivalled Howqua Valley scenery. Please note pets are only allowed on sites by prior agreement for off-peak stays, and you must seek permission from the park to start a fire in an approved pit, based on weather conditions and fire restrictions.

Lake Eildon is brimming with possibilities. Pick up your bait, tackle, and gear from the general store, and you’re all set to launch your boat and catch an Eildon Trout. Water activities are sorted, with a boat ramp and parking area to store your boat, trailer, or jet skis. Go boating, waterskiing, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, or simply chill out by the water. As you rest on the sprawling lakeside, you might even spot a kangaroo or two bounding through the high country.

From the park, you can travel to the historical town of Jamieson or discover the High Country Gardens Gallery and Maze. In winter, Howqua Valley Holiday Park is a popular place to stay when visiting the ski fields of Mount Buller and Mount Stirling – only 40 minutes away – but the mountains are equally as beautiful in summer, with stunning walking and mountain biking tracks. The town of Mansfield is only 20 minutes’ drive for access to bushwalking, mountain biking, wineries, markets, the zoo, plus all your holiday necessities.

Whether you’re visiting in sun or snow season, Howqua Valley Holiday Park is an all-year-round showstopper.
