Western Australia is a wonderland waiting to be explored on your next holiday. Whether you’re going to the Coral Coast or heading south to the Margaret River region, you’ll be captivated by beautiful beaches, wildlife encounters, and activities for kids and kids at heart alike. We’ve narrowed down some family favourite G’day Parks in the west for your family to call home.
Experience Lancelin Holiday Park
Embark on a beachside escape to Experience Lancelin Holiday Park. Ninety minutes north of Perth, the Turquoise Coast beckons with its pristine beaches for swimming, surfing, and water sports. Sleep tight in a Two-Bedroom Cabin, with room for five people to enjoy the spacious rooms and ocean views. The park has an indoor heated swimming pool and spa, plus an activity room and tour desk. Jump beneath the bright sails on the bouncing pillow, before playing all day on the playground. Grab your morning coffee and lunchtime toasties from the on-site coffee van before your adventures begin. Take a sandboard, dirt bike, or four-wheel drive to Lancelin Sand Dunes for hours of fun or go fishing with a local charter company. A day trip to the Pinnacles Desert is well worth the drive; no matter when you visit, the 25,000-year-old limestone formations make this national park a one-of-a-kind experience.
Gracetown Caravan Park
Did someone say mini golf and marshmallow toasting in the Margaret River region? Gracetown Caravan Park is just ten minutes from the main street, and three minutes from Cowaramup Beach for amazing surf waves. Kids will love the playground, bouncing pillow, tennis court, volleyball court, basketball ring, and campfire for quintessential holiday park fun. Plus, Gracetown Caravan Park offers an outdoor movie cinema throughout the warmer months, so grab an ice cream from the kiosk and settle in. A colourful Two-Bedroom Chalet is just the ticket for families with plenty of space, an outdoor deck, and enough beds for five people. Alternately, go glamping amongst the trees in a family tent that can house four people. When you’re not winery hopping, savour local artisans’ food, from the Margaret River Farmers Market vendors to the multiple chocolate makers in town. Turn into explorers as you mountain bike, join a whale watching cruise, or descend into Mammoth Cave and emerge into a marri forest trail. No stay in this region is ever long enough!
Discovery Parks - Bunbury Foreshore
Are you a family who loves the ocean and the outdoors? Located close to Koombana Bay, Discovery Parks - Bunbury Foreshore is a marine lover’s paradise with a wide range of in-park facilities. Hire bikes, stand-up paddleboards, and pedal karts, then take a turn on the tennis or basketball court. Their seasonal swimming pool and splash park are irresistible on sunny days, while the bouncing pillow, games room, kids club, and pump track provide lots of amusement. Koombana Beach is an excellent place to spot dolphins, so why not pair it with a visit to Bunbury’s Dolphin Discovery Centre? Learn how to surf with Bunbury Surf School, or keep active on the town’s cycling paths, mangrove walk, and enormous skate park. The Geographe Wine Region is only 20 kilometres away, while natural delights abound in Bunbury Wildlife Park and the Tuart Forest Walk. A Deluxe Three-Bedroom Waterfront Cabin is great value, sleeping up to seven people with a private bathroom, large kitchen, heating, and inlet and city views from your outdoor seating area.
Lake Brockman Tourist Park
Families and Lake Brockman Tourist Park are a perfect match. The park has a range of cabins or glamping experiences to suit your family’s size and needs. See through the trees from your Luxury Family Tent that comes with a full kitchen (including a microwave, air fryer, and coffee machine), bathroom, balcony, BBQ, and a fire pit for use in the winter months. Enjoy the on-site café for delicious breakfast and lunch, or head into the Harvey township to discover award-winning wineries. Make memories on a family cycling journey along the Munda Biddi trail or stay closer to home base. Kids can while away the hours on the park’s playground and BMX pump tracks, and you can launch your boat straight onto the lake from their ramp. The dam is a top spot for swimming, canoeing, trout fishing, or waterskiing, while the forest is abundant with walking trails. All of this, surrounded by state forest, overlooking the Logue Brook Dam? Don’t mind if we do!
Port Gregory Caravan Park
At Port Gregory Caravan Park, it won’t be hard to convince your kids to visit the pink lake at Hutt Lagoon, with its one-of-a-kind colouring only a short walk away. In the other direction, wander down to the beach at the Port Gregory jetty, where you can bring a picnic dinner and keep an eye out for friendly dolphins. Swimming, snorkelling, and chilling out on the sand are strongly encouraged, and Port Gregory is a fishing village, so it would be rude to leave your fishing rod behind. Jump in the car to explore further towns along the Coral Coast, as well as the multiple historic buildings that – whether in ruins or restored – give a nod to the town’s heritage, including the Lynton Convict Depot and Sanford’s House. Challenge your children to a kids-versus-parents battle in the park’s activity room, with air hockey, billiards, foosball, and arcade games. When night falls, your ensuite Three-Bedroom Cabin sleeps up to seven people and has a well-equipped kitchen for an easy, restful holiday.
Discovery Parks - Busselton
See a new side of South Western Australia at Discovery Parks - Busselton. The park has direct beach access to Geographe Bay, and an indoor heated swimming pool means you can swim no matter the weather. Hire a kayak to float over the waves or throw out a line and fish. A Superior Two-Bedroom Cabin has everything to keep you clean and comfortable during your stay—a full-size kitchen, open-plan lounge and dining, separate bathroom, air-conditioning, TV, and outdoor setting on a private deck. Alternately, book a Superior Safari Tent for a family of four. The kids will love clambering over the playground by day and nighttime possum spotting among the peppermint trees. Busselton’s iconic jetty and underwater observatory are unmissable, then see who can reach the centre of the Yallingup Maze first. There’s never any chance of being bored, because the Margaret River region boasts incredible caves, beaches, national parks, and wineries to make your trip one to remember.
