Put some pep in your step with a trip to marvellous Margaret River, where your pup is welcome at wineries such as House of Cards, South By South West Wines, Juniper Estate, and Swings and Roundabouts (with a doggo drinking station and lots of open space to boot).

Extend your getaway into the seaside town of Busselton at Discovery Parks - Busselton. Powered sites come in a range of sizes, whether you’re travelling in a compact tent or a caravan with all the bells and whistles. Charming pet-friendly cabins are also up for grabs (seasonal restrictions apply) with a full kitchen, outdoor setting, and private bathroom. Buy holiday snacks from the on-site kiosk, dive into the swimming pool, or just relax amongst the tranquil environment.

Then, settle in at Tasman Holiday Parks - Albany for the ultimate holiday escape. Among their wide range of self-contained accommodation, their deluxe pet-friendly cabins are pretty spiffy, featuring an outdoor patio, chef’s kitchen, and modern bathroom. Powered, ensuite, and off-grid camping and caravan sites are also available. When dinnertime rolls around, it's your choice between a BBQ feast or firing up the pizza oven. Though you’ll be spending significant time at local wineries and beaches, in-park features include a swimming pool, tennis court, and activity room.

Your pup can enjoy the trademark fresh air of the Adelaide Hills at vineyards like K1 Wines, Watkins Wine, Catlin Wines, and Simon Tolley Wines (who even run occasional Pinot and Pooch sessions!).

The hills are alive at Discovery Parks - Hahndorf, surrounded by picturesque views and just down the road from the main street that blends German history with local South Australian fare. Check into a pet-friendly unit, which has a fenced yard so you can sit and relax on the outdoor seating area while the dog plays, or camp on a powered site. Fun touches like an activity room, mini golf, and swimming pool provide plenty of chances to let your hair down.

Barossa Valley

Stay in the heart of Tanunda at Discovery Parks - Barossa Valley. Along with powered and unpowered sites, they have a range of pet-friendly cabins (pet bond applies). Chill out amongst the peaceful surroundings, have a dip in the swimming pool, or warm up beside a campfire (seasonal).

Why shouldn’t your fur baby get to experience the famous McLaren Vale? Take ‘em along to places like Shottesbrooke Vineyards, Chalk Hill Wines, Alpha Box & Dice, Kay Brothers, and – as the name suggests – DogRidge!

One of the best parts of McLaren Vale is how close it is to the Fleurieu Peninsula, so it just makes sense to park yourself right on the coast at Christies Beach Tourist Park. Keen anglers can use the boat ramp for fishing adventures, with BBQs and camp kitchen to cook up the day’s catch. Powered sites are available on grass and slab, with dogs allowed seasonally.

Clare Valley

Discovery Parks - Clare is right in the centre of the action, with gorgeous natural surroundings everywhere you turn. Powered sites are available on slab, grass, or gravel, along with spacious drive-through sites to benefit larger vehicles, or you can book a pet-friendly cabin. There are two swimming pools to cool off on hot days, and all the essential laundry and cooking facilities.

Coonawarra

Prepare for your dog’s paws to dig into the terra rossa soil while visiting spots like Raidis Estate, Whistle Post, Patrick of Coonawarra, and DiGiorgio Family Wines.

Walking distance from the town centre, Penola Coonawarra Caravan Park has dog-friendly cabins and powered sites. They offer electric bike hire if you want to pedal between cellar doors, along with handy facilities like BBQs, a laundry, and free Wi-Fi. The park is only half an hour from Mount Gambier, where you can swap wineries for natural wonders like the Blue Lake and Umpherston Sinkhole.

QLD

Granite Belt

The Granite Belt sure knows how to extend their hospitality to furry friends, especially at cellar doors like Balancing Heart, Robert Channon Wines, and Summit Estate.

They have a variety of pet-friendly accommodation, including snug rooms and cabins, plus powered, unpowered, and ensuite sites. Yarraman Caravan Park and Cabins takes being pet friendly very seriously. In fact, every single site and cabin here is open to four-legged friends. That’s right—your best mate can stay with you in a deluxe cabin for no added cost. Plus, they may just get their photo added to the VIP (Very Important Pet) Wall of Fame in reception. The park has a swimming pool, club room, campfire, and lots of other thoughtful touches, from a guest library to a free herb and veggie garden.

TAS

In the Apple Isle’s famous winemaking country, dogs can come along to Tamar Valley wineries such as Vélo Wines and Westella Vineyard.

Just south of Launceston, Discovery Parks - Hadspen is less than an hour from the Tamar Valley. Camp on a powered site (ensuite options available) or upgrade to a cosy pet-friendly cabin. Play games in the activity room, cook up a BBQ, light up a campfire (weather permitting), or head into Launnie to explore everything the city has to offer.

VIC

King Valley and Rutherglen

Trust us, this should be the year that you uncover the delights of Victoria’s King Valley and the Rutherglen Wine Region. In the King Valley, dogs are welcome at Pizzini Wines for the majority of the year, and Brown Brothers will happily provide water bowls (plus pats and cuddles!). Meanwhile, Cofield Wines, Scion Wine, Campbells of Rutherglen, and Buller Wines are all happy to host dogs on leads in the Rutherglen Wine Region.

Lucky for you, Eldorado Caravan Park is located between both regions. While dogs are only allowed on powered and unpowered sites here, you couldn’t find a lovelier place to camp. Share happy hour surrounded by lush green grass and shady trees, or hire a fire pit all year round (excluding fire ban days). Keep clean and tidy thanks to their laundry facilities and bring plenty of snags to sizzle on the BBQs.

Yarra Valley

In Victoria’s famous Yarra Valley, less than an hour from Melbourne, you can even sign up for a Pooches and Pinot tour through the vineyards. If you prefer to fly solo, dogs are allowed at Helen’s Hill, Maddens Rise, and Rob Dolan Wines.

Lilydale Pine Hill Caravan Park is an ideal place to return after days packed with food and wine experiences. Powered, ensuite, and drive-through sites cater for all campers – including furry ones, of course – while two-bedroom pet-friendly cabins provide a full-size kitchen, private bathroom, and covered deck with an outdoor setting and your own BBQ. The communal camp kitchen, games room, and fire pits are the best place to meet fellow campers, cook up a mighty feast, and keep warm on cooler evenings.

Canberra District

Wineries don’t get much more pet approved than Murrumbateman Winery, which even sells a range of wines (named after their resident rescue doggo, Mollie) that support the ACT RSPCA. Dogs can also join you outside at Four Winds Vineyard, Surveyors Hill Vineyards, or Shaw Estate.

Camp in Canberra at Capital Country Holiday Park. Powered and unpowered sites are a specialty, with ensuite and drive-through options, plus a limited number of dog freedom sites. (Select pet-friendly bungalows may be available; please call the park to enquire.) Then, it's time to have fun, with a tennis court, mini golf course, tour desk, and swimming pool.
