Now is the perfect time to start planning your next road trip to the heart of the Murray River.

The Central Murray region has got it all: beautiful national parks and gardens, quirky attractions, walking trails, wildlife spotting, and most of all, pristine waterways for fishing, boating, and water skiing.

Read on for some of our favourite towns to visit, which also make excellent additions to an Echuca–Moama or Albury–Wodonga holiday. Even better, there’s a holiday park located in each one. Get inspired, get excited, then get booking your next trip via the G’day Parks app or online.

The twin towns of Yarrawonga and Mulwala – also known as Sun Country – share Lake Mulwala, the go-to spot for water activities and refreshing views. There’s no sight quite like overlooking the red gums at sunset, especially with a fishing rod in hand.

Yarrawonga Riverlands Tourist Park

At Yarrawonga Riverlands Tourist Park, it’s only steps to the Murray River and a short drive to Lake Mulwala. The park has a wide range of accommodation, from powered sites to premium cabins, and is pet-friendly, with dogs allowed on sites and in select cabins. It’s easy to stay entertained, whether you’re swimming in the pool, playing outdoor games, challenging your mates in the activity room, or joining the kids on the playground.

Tasman Holiday Parks - Lake Mulwala

For a glamourous getaway, visit Tasman Holiday Parks - Lake Mulwala. This waterfront park has something for every traveller, from large caravan and camping sites (including ones that welcome your pup) to self-contained villas and cabins. There’s no luxury quite like a three-bedroom Waterfront Villa, where you can clink glasses and snack on chips and a cheeseboard as the sun sets over the lake. The park has its own boat ramp to begin your lake adventures, plus a resort-style pool, bouncing pillow, BMX track, playground, tennis court, and camp kitchen with a pizza oven.
