Travellers have a feverish obsession with silo and street art (who can blame them?), and several Aussie towns are sharing their enthusiasm. All over our country's beautiful landscape, blank walls, water tanks, and silos have been turned into public art canvases. Some regional locations just can't get enough, so they've gone the extra step and brandished their paintbrushes all over town!

We’ve rounded up a list of places all around Australia which are a hub for silo art trails or have well and truly earned the nickname of a ‘street art town’.

There’s at least one in every state. Read on to find the one that’s closest to you!

Only half an hour from Devonport (a.k.a. super convenient for anyone reaching the Apple Isle by ferry), Sheffield is known as ‘Tasmania’s Town of Murals’. Enjoy the quirks of this rural outdoor gallery, with more than 200 murals, plus some great hiking and mountain biking tracks to get out and about in the local wilderness. The town’s creativity hits fever pitch in November for Mural Fest, an annual competition and festival held at Mural Park.

There’s even an annual festival – Colour Tumby – which celebrates all things street art!

After you've checked out all 40 murals, Collie also has a reputation for hiking and biking, especially in Wellington National Park. In springtime, the area bursts into even more colour, thanks to seasonal wildflowers, and on sunny days, you can enjoy water activities in local natural pools.
